We know choosing handmade body care can come with a few questions—and we’re happy to help. Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our soaps, ingredients, ordering, and shipping.

Do your soaps contain lye?
All true soap is made with lye, but none remains in the finished bar. During saponification, oils and lye transform into soap—leaving a safe, gentle product.
Do your soaps contain palm oil?
Yes, our palm oil is certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). We are committed to using sustainably-sourced, cruelty-free ingredients in all of our products.
Do your products contain preservatives?
Our soap bars and lotion bars do not require preservatives. Our sugar scrubs use safe, skin-friendly preservatives to maintain freshness.
Are your products scented with fragrance oils or essential oils?
Our products are formulated using both fragrance and essential oils which are developed in accordance with the most recent International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards. All of our fragrance and essential oils are free of parabens and phthalates.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Many customers with sensitive skin enjoy our products, but everyone’s skin is different. We recommend a small patch test if you’re sensitive to essential oils or new ingredients. All of our products are free from parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
Are your products vegan?
Most are vegan-friendly, but some soaps include ingredients like goat milk, honey, or beeswax. Each product listing clearly states when an item is vegan.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Do you offer individual soap samples?
At this time, we don’t offer individual samples of specific soaps. Instead, we provide a 16oz Sudsy Sample Pack filled with a variety of assorted mini bars and end cuts from our current collection. This is a fun, cost-effective way to try multiple scents and experience the quality of our handmade soaps. Since each pack is made up of available cuts, we’re unable to guarantee specific scents—but that’s part of the surprise! 🫧
Do you accept returns?
Due to the nature of skincare products, returns aren’t accepted. Please inspect your order upon reception and reach out to us at contact@mellowsuds.com if your items are defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item(s). We will do our best to assist in a resolution to your issue!
